What makeup and techniques can make you look more mature and older?

I am 18 and am very petite. Because of this people often mistake my age. Usually people think I am 14, but yesterday someone thought I was 11. I am utterly sick of this! I have been turned down jobs just because I LOOK young, they don't even bother with my resume. I know I will be thankful later in life, but right now it is an inconvenience. Does anyone know what techniques or colors I can use to make myself look my age? What makeup and techniques can make you look more mature and older?
I have this very same problem. Still working on it.

First, is probably to get a more mature haircut.

Jewelry, not flashy and wear real things. Things like diamond stud or pearl earrings always makes you look mature.

Dress older. No flip-flops or sneakers. Wear dark colored bottoms. No t-shirts. Things like blouses, think Ann Taylor. Fitted jackets such as blazers.

Bag - something older like leather, nothing really colorful or shiny

Makeup - smooth out your skin tone esp. something like acne which can make you look younger. Accentuate your eyes. Get your brows shaped and maintain them. What makeup and techniques can make you look more mature and older?
I used to be exactly like that.

Well don't wear too much make up, and for colors; you always want to look natural to look mature. Maybe not for parties or going out, but for jobs or everyday looks, you want neutral colors. Stray away from bright blues and pinks.

You might want browns, grays, plums, etc.

Still look youthful though.:)
Just wear everything dark. Dark eyeliner and mascara and maybe red lipstick or some other dark color.
dark eyeliner. bronzer. and a new hair cut/hair color. if u posted a pic we can give u more detail! good luck
mostly dark colers and browns , work

smokey eye and stuff like that
*Eyes: Stick to dark colors and neutrals (i.e.--browns, deep red, forest green, etc.) Stay away from bright, flashy colors (i.e.--purple, yellow, light blue, etc.)

*Lips: Go for a deeper shade (i.e.--burgundy) Stay away from pinks and bright red.

*Face: Use a bronzer on your cheekbones. Downplay the apples of your cheeks if you have a natural rosy flush. (it makes you look younger--you could try bronzer to cover it up.

Use a foundation that's 1 shade darker than your normal skin color.

*Clothing: Stick to nicer clothing. Nothing sloppy like today's teen trends.

*Jewelry: Only wear jewelry that is real or looks identical to the real thing. Good choices--gold, diamonds, silver, etc. Try not to be too gawdy here--keep it to a minimum.

*Hair: Keep your natural color!! Unless you are doing something like highlights or lowlights, don't do anything drastic to change your haircolor! It will not look natural! As for the cut, keep it simple. A cute bob would look nice on most people. Don't let it get sloppy! If your hair is long, keep it in a low ponytail or a neat braid (stay away from 2 braids or a high ponytail--makes people think ';cheerleader'; = ';high school';).

Most of all, just act mature and be respectful. This goes a long way!

Good luck!
